George Angus Mackenzie Memorial

Most Promising Beginner Dancer Award

This perpetual award was generously donated by Annette Venegas and family in 2013 in loving memory of George Angus Mackenzie who encouraged his nieces and nephews in their pursuits of Highland Dancing and Piping.

This special perpetual award is given at the discretion of the Adjudicator to a Beginner dancer who displays the skills & attitude needed to progress in Highland dancing.

Wilma KG Mackenzie Heberling Memorial

Most Promising Novice Dancer Award

This perpetual award was generously donated by Annette Venegas and Katharine McLendon in 2018 in loving memory of their mother, Wilma KG Mackenzie Heberling. Wilma was an avid supporter and active member of the SA Highland Games as well as the Scottish Society of SA and the British Society of Texas. In addition, she played an active role in helping promote and develop Highland Dancing in San Antonio along with her daughter, Annette Venegas.

This special perpetual award is given at the discretion of the Adjudicator to a Novice dancer who displays the skills & attitude needed to progress in Highland dancing.

Shavonne Klein Memorial

Most Promising Intermediate Dancer Award

This is the first year that this perpetual award will be given. It was generously donated by Ken and Mary Beth Klein in loving memory of their daughter who passed away unexpectedly in 2024. Her laughter, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed

This special perpetual award is given at the discretion of the Adjudicator to an Intermediate dancer who displays the skills & attitude needed to progress in Highland dancing.

Donald Miller Memorial

Premier Sword Challenge Award

This perpetual award was originally donated by Isobel Miller in 2013 in loving memory of her husband, Donald Miller who was an avid supporter/mentor of his daughter’s (Mary Beth Klein) dance career. His warm heart and funny wit are fondly remembered and missed by many in the Highland Dance Community.

The aggregate trophy winner in each Premier age group will qualify to dance off for this award. The Challenge Sword dance (2&1) will be danced immediately following presentation of awards. RSOBHD Championship Steps are NOT required for this event.
